ADVENTURES IN COLOUR
Hi, I'm Kirsty Black, a contemporary, abstract artist based in Auckland, New Zealand.
I paint dynamic adventures in colour often with a mischievous twist, using freeform brushstrokes to convey a sense of escapade, of romping across the canvas with joyful abandon.
Featured Artwork

Acrylic on Canvas, 1100 x 1100mm
Nattering Gnat
Typically my work focuses on gesture and colour, with an emphasis on energetic, animated brush strokes and bold palettes.

Happy Customers

Andrea Birtwistle, WellingtonI have two of Kirsty Black's pieces, purchased a few years apart, and I love how they reflect her evolving style. The fabulous colours and whimsical names of each artwork reflect Kirsty's personality on canvas perfectly.
Phil & Clare Matthews, Kapiti CoastKirsty's work is joyous and accomplished. Her use of colour and mark making to tell a story in her painting is masterful. Her work is most definitely something you want on your wall. We are loving our painting of some years. It is timeless and beautiful and still thrills us when we look at it.
Michelle, SydneyThe paintings travelled well, thanks largely to their amazing bomb proof packaging. We have many more public places for them and they look amazing, colourful, fresh and interesting. We both love them.
Kim, AucklandI now have 4 artworks of yours, all located in the house entrance/ stairs. I love the vibrancy and colour they bring to the space - everyone that sees them loves these works too!
