Mouse Tales is a bold portrait-format abstract painting with the confident energy of something told with great conviction and very little regard for accuracy. Large black gestural outlines form interlocking rounded forms across a soft blue ground, their interiors filled with beige, white and yellow. Vivid red accents cut through the composition at key moments, and scattered black and white dots punctuate the surface. The brushwork is loose but deliberate — each mark placed with the assurance of someone who has told this story many times before.
