Tuatara Thunder: Despite his grumpy visage, Tua was really a friendly chap

Tuatara Thunder is a portrait-format abstract painting built from broad, looping gestures in warm mustard yellow, layered with soft tones of pale blue, grey, blush and off-white. The forms feel both architectural and fluid, overlapping and curving as if in quiet motion, confident brushwork that carries a sense of rhythm and balance across the surface without ever feeling rushed.

Semi-transparent passages allow earlier marks to remain visible beneath the surface, and scattered dots move through the composition with quiet playfulness. The overall effect is warm and unhurried, a painting with real presence that rewards time spent with it.
